Master the Turkish national Electronic English Proficiency Exam (e-TEP). Learn the structure of the computer-delivered speaking module, practice audio prompts, and secure your academic license.
Designed for graduate candidates, civil servants, academics, and students in Turkey preparing to sit the official e-TEP language proficiency exams administered by ÖSYM.
The e-TEP is computer-delivered. You listen to prompts through headphones and record your response into a microphone within a strict time limit.
The computer-delivered speaking section of the e-TEP consists of multiple tasks that progress in difficulty to map to CEFR levels (A1-C1).
You read a short academic paragraph out loud on screen. This evaluates phoneme pronunciation, stress patterns, and general fluent reading speed.
You answer daily situational questions (e.g., describing your hometown, hobbies, or a recent travel experience) based on simple prompts.
You analyze and describe an infographic, chart, or graph on screen, translating data trends into logical English vocabulary.
Speaking without unnatural mid-sentence pauses. Maintaining a steady tempo and using correct word-linking patterns.
Subject-verb agreements, correct prepositions, and appropriate complex connectors (e.g. *whereas, furthermore, on the other hand*).
Using vocabulary suitable for professional and graduate contexts. Avoid simple repetitive words.
Developing all sub-questions of the prompt within the allocated recording timer limits.
e-TEP (Elektronik İngilizce Yeterlilik Testi) is the national electronic English exam administered by ÖSYM to measure candidate competencies in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
Traditional YDS and e-YDS are multiple-choice grammar and reading tests with 80 questions. e-TEP, on the other hand, evaluates all four active skills, including writing and speaking.
ÖSYM uses a hybrid system combining automated acoustic evaluation algorithms with double-blind reviews by certified human examiners to ensure fair results.
